Gromit has been unleashed!
Dozens of the giant decorated dogs have taken up their homes on the streets of Bristol as the ten-week 'Gromit Unleashed' arts trail gets under way. Led by Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal and Aardman Animations, Gromit Unleashed is a public art exhibition in which giant sculptures of Gromit, decorated by invited artists, have been unleashed on the streets of Bristol and the surrounding area.
At the end of the art trail, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity.
The event was launched when creator of Gromit, Nick Park, drove a steam train on Bristol's Harbourside Railway on to the city docks, pulling 12 of the 5ft statues behind him.
The Bluefin sponsored Gromit 'Lancelot' (pictured) was designed by Sir Paul Smith and takes pride of place in Quaker Friars, the designer stretch of Cabot Circus shopping district.
